Subway and Elm hill.

This is two images of the subway in Norwich and Elm hill . We will be using this for George to walk through to get into the city centre towards elm hill where he'll walk through. We chose these particular places to show a contrast. Elm hill is considered to be a rather pretty and a wealthier part of Norwich whereas the Subway is quite dingey and connotes hostility.

Shots.

The following is 12 shots clearly explained, which were pieced together. As a group we did this for our music video for the song titled the Insomniac by the Jubilee's.Some of these shots may be up for interpretation and alteration slightly in the making of our video, but we will try not to change it to much as this may effect the video negatively and ruin our planning. Although impulsive and spontaneous idea can be good overall we should keep within the guidelines we set ourselves.
1) Long Shot (LS) of bed with main character (George) upon it in Hewett's School Field.
2) Close up (CU) of George's face.
3) Extreme Close up (ECU) of George's eye.
4) Zooms out; back to a long shot (LS) of George resting his elbows on his legs. Slowly the image fade away, disintigrate.
5) Main character (George) walking down the long path situated through Hewett's School field; Long Shot (LS)
6) Main character; in the city, staring at a girl. The girl is with another male. Over the shoulder shot; Close Up (CU) of girl.
7) Extreme Long Shot (ELU) of George walking in the Subway (Norwich), towards the camera. The shot changing as he walks closer to the camera. A Low angle shot (shot number 8), High angle shot (shot number 9) and a tilted angle shot (shot number 10) will be included in this scene.
8) Low Angle Shot of George in Subway (Norwich).
9)High Angle Shot of George in Subway (Norwich).
10) Tilted Angle Shot of George in Subway (Norwich).
11) A combination of Long Shots (LS's) and Close up's (CU's) of George when he is walking down Elm Hill (Norwich).
12) A zoomed out long shot (LS) of George to conclude his journey. George walks with his head looking towards the ground and his hands situated in his pockets.

The minutes.

These are the minutes which was typed up by Vikki. I scribed these notes in the meeting with our clients, while Me and Vikki asked frequent questions throughout the meeting. To the left it is clearly layed out in three columns; topic and discussion, any action items and person(s) responsible.

How are bands changing the type of directors they chose to make their videos?

How are bands changing the type of directors they use to make their music videos?

Every Director has their own unique style that makes them identifiable to artists and bands alike. This is because when going to a director artists seek upon something different and unique to their own. When directing a video they usually take ideas from the band and intertwine them with their own to produce something almost surprising to both the artist and the audience. These ideas are usually up for interpretation constantly throughout the filming of a video. Like many Directors have certain strong and very opinionated views on popular culture and music. So whatever their passion or pet peev lies within can come through in the video. Bringing their own specific knowledge to a video. Possibly resulting in many advantages to a Artist or Band

The Conventions of Lighting.

Backlight : This is an example of backlight. The floodlights behind President Obama highlight his body to create more definition and an heroic feel to the image. Almost halo like.
Fill Light : A picture consisting of only natrual light known as daylight.
This is used mainly to show ordinary/everyday objects. Or to show clear images of landscapes such as this.

Keylight: This is an example of keylight. Where there is lots of shadow mainly on one side of the object, with the other side in light. This is a good effect because it connotes a more mysterious image which is mainly used in horror films to build a sort of tension and unease.

Bookings and Permissions.

Above is the permissions and responsibilities we need to produce our music video. The permissions needed are the following:George Browne & Parents (He's under the age of 18, permission is needed from parents). Altough Gary did mention that above 16 and out of school is isnt to primary. Hewett school field's owner - Phone call, Email, face to face conversation with headteacher or whoever is responsible for the use of hewett's school field. As we are unsure as to who to talk to as there is some confusion on who actually owns that part of the field. The following list is the bookings we need. Equipment, Specific dates and times for the use of video camera, tripod, bed, bed covers all of which are up for interpritation. Hewett school field specific dates and times for the use of the field. For example, the field cannot be used on a saturday or a sunday because the school is closed for the weekend. The responsibilities for the above are as followed; equipment use is all of the groups and the Hewett school field is Victoria's.

The whole team were satisfied with this result and so were the clients. We now hope to keep satisfying the clients in the next couple of meetings by showing our ideas further. Within the budget although being partly responsible for all of it as a Production Manager. Examples of my responsibilities are making sure our one cast member is paid and also our insurance and legal fees.

As a Production Manager this role is all about running the costs for everything correctly, the negotiation to do with the shoot organising (mainly seeking directors view with this). Also my role will be arranging the venues as to where the video can be shot. The cast organising, so without arranging correct dates etc. with the cast the video could end up in jeopardy. Also the equipment and studio. The right equipment will reflect in the work we produce so this is essential.
